We celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary this week! Our actual anniversary was on a Monday this year, so we went out for a nice dinner downtown the previous Saturday and enjoyed a quiet weekend at home. We also spent some time packing this week and getting ready for our trip to the San Francisco! At the end of the week we had our 2nd prenatal appointment with our OB. She told us that everything looked great, and asked how I was feeling. We had been expecting another ultrasound, but instead she just checked the baby's heartbeat (a strong 150 bpm!). It was such a quick appointment!
Here's what's happening with Baby Riley this week:
- Baby Riley is the size of an apple this week, and approximately 4 inches long
- Although his/her eyes are still shut, they can sense light
- Baby Riley's limbs are still lengthening and growing
- He/she is forming taste buds
And what's happening with me:
Weight Gained: 4 pounds as of last week, but I'm guess it's now more like 5-6 pounds.
Maternity Clothes: Still holding out by wearing mostly summer dresses.
Workouts: Strength training and light cardio on the bicycle at the gym. I also did one online prenatal Barre3 workout, which I need to do way more often (I have a 6-month subscription).
Symptoms: Feeling great!
Food Aversions/Cravings: We walked by a couple on our way to dinner the other night and they had a large plate of onion rings in front of them. I REALLY wanted onion rings, but resisted because we were about to have a nice dinner at an Italian restaurant in Tribeca. (Brian just laughed and thought I was weird).
Sleep: I slept well this week, although I can tell that sleeping on my stomach won't be comfortable for much longer.
Looking Forward to: Our trip to California over Labor Day weekend! I'll be spending the weekend with my sister and her husband, who live in Oakland.
